“There is nowhere to go but up”. “Some progress is better than no progress”. “The ceiling is the roof”. Those are just a few phrases of encouragement that we all need to hear at times. It is always good to look in the mirror from time to time and know your worth. You have to always keep in mind that you are valuable and considered as asset any and everywhere you go.

That is the case for Deni Avdija.  He secured the bag over the summer bringing in some fortunes that will offer his family generational wealth. That is the goal at the end of the day. We all want to help our families and continue to grow in all aspects of life. Deni has seen improvements in his game throughout each and every year of his career in the NBA. The stats are telling facts as they have seem to increase every season. However, the question that comes to mind is how good can Deni Avdija be in the NBA? What exactly is his ceiling?

Well, I think it goes without mentioning that the Washington Wizards had interest in Bilal Coulibaly for a reason. He has had a fantastic rookie campaign thus far this season. Deni Avdija is the true definition of solid! He does whatever is asked and required of him. He is almost like a swiss army knife. He does a little bit of everything well, but not great.

With that being said, it feels as if he has reached his ceiling. He does whatever is needed for his team to win. That could be focusing on crashing the boards. The Wizards desperately need more help with that because Deni can’t do it alone. He sometimes is asked to defend the opponent’s best scorer. That is something special for him because at his size and frame, he has the ability to guard multiple positions.

He also sees the floor well, plays team basketball, and is a capable passer of the basketball. We know how well Deni Avdija can shoot the basketball, especially at three. He is shooting 50% from the field this season, which lands him in the top 40 for field goal percentage. While Deni isn’t great, his skillset and the way he approaches the game will allow him the opportunity to play this game for a very long time. That is why the Wizards gave him the contract extension. He is a high end role player who simply does whatever it takes to win.
