The Washington Wizards begun their Summer League play last night in Las Vegas. They took on a familiar opponent, the Indiana Pacers. The game resulted in a 91-83 loss. The Indiana Pacers had the best player on the floor in Ben Mathurin. Ben is a player who is going into his second season in the NBA. He proved himself to be a future star as he looked like one of the most promising players in the draft. He led the game in scoring as he dropped 27 points on the Wizards.

But enough about the Pacers. The real question is which player on the other side impressed you the most? Which Washington Wizard shined the most last night?

It’s easy to say Johnny Davis. Although his playing time in the NBA was limited last season, he isn’t a rookie any longer. Like Ben Mathurin, Johnny Davis is going into his second year as a pro and he looked aggressive just like Mathurin too as he led the Wizards in scoring with 17. It’s also easy to say Bilal Coulibaly as he was the Wizards 1st Round Draft Pick in last month’s NBA Draft. He actually struggled a bit as he scored nine points on 4/13 shooting from the field.

The Wizard player who was most impressive was Tristan Vukcevic. It’s not always the amount of points you score that can get attention. Vukcevic struggled shooting from the field just as bad as Bilal did. However, he looked comfortable shooting the ball. As a matter of fact, although he didn’t get any to drop, he still attempted a couple of shots from beyond the ark. He also added a decent amount of rebounds too.

Since the Wizards missed out on free agent Mo Bamba, the Wizards need to make sure they develop and find their starting center of the future. Vukcevic looked sharp defensively as he had a block to go along with three steals as well. Tristan Vukcevic looked quite impressive last night in his first NBA Summer League game.
