The agent of midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has revealed why the 19-year-old decided to stay at Inter Milan this season.

Akinsanmiro’s agent Crescenzo Cecere spoke to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, explaining that the Nigerian decided that the best course of action for him this season was to continue his growth.

Akinsanmiro has been part of Inter’s youth team setup this season.

The teenage midfielder has been playing for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team since his arrival last year.

Inter beat the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to Akinsanmiro’s signature.

The Nigerian’s talent had caught the eye of a number of clubs. But Inter were the team to convince him with their project.

Akinsanmiro is still just nineteen. Therefore there is hardly a rush for him to start making an impact in senior football.

But every experience at the top level counts for a player in the 19-year-old’s position.

And Akinsanmiro got a big one in a match against Lecce earlier this season. He got a feel for what it’s like being on the pitch with his senior teammates at the Serie A level.

There will still be a long way for the Nigerian to go.

Agent Explains Why Ebenezer Akinsanmiro Stayed At Inter This Season

Akinsanmiro’s substitute appearance away to Lecce was his only senior appearance this season, however.

The 19-year-old did get a lot out of that experience. However, it is not as though he was a fixture in the senior team – putting it mildly.

Nevertheless, agent Cecere feels that it was, by and large, a positive season for Akinsanmiro.

The agent said that “He’s a very talented experience.”

“He now has experience with the first team.”

“He’s a young talent who certainly has a big future,” Cecere said of the Nigerian.

“This was a season of great growth for him,” he added. “He stayed at Inter so that he could train and work.”
