Tottenham Hotspur have time in hand in their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo.

Dani Olmo has been on the wishlist of the North London club for a while now. They are considering making a move for him in the summer and according to a report from Sport BILD via SportWitness, Tottenham do not need to rush into a decision as the RB Leipzig star’s release clause doesn’t expire until July.

Spurs might have had a decent first season under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou but there are quite a few areas that need reinforcements before heading into next season. The North London club have relied heavily on Son Heung-min and Richarlison for goals. The Australian manager wants to ensure they have more firepower in attack to help bridge the gap between them and the best teams in the country.

Olmo who has gone from strength to strength since joining RB Leipzig in the winter of 2020 has been on Spurs’ radar. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has been a consistent performer for the German club and Tottenham are looking to sign him as he can provide cover for James Maddison and also start on the right flank, the role that he has been used in this term.

While his contract with Leipzig runs until the summer of 2027, there is a release clause worth €65 million in his deal which could lead to his departure. It could be a bargain price for a team like Tottenham who seek to add more quality to their squad. While nothing is concrete yet, they have already established contact regarding a move in the summer.

The release clause in the Spanish international’s contract doesn’t expire until July which means Spurs have some time in their hand. They do not need to rush into a decision now. Meanwhile, the player hasn’t made a decision regarding his future and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Olmo will head to the the Euros with Spain this summer and his performances could draw more interest. The Spaniard has eight goals and five assists in all competitions this season.
