Watch: Manchester United ties record, highlighting club's ineptitude

Manchester United's disappointing season hit a low point on Sunday.

In a 1-0 home loss against Arsenal, Gunners forward Leandro Trossard scored the match's only goal at the 20-minute mark. Per "BBC Match of the Day," it was the 82nd goal the Red Devils have allowed this season, tying a club record last met in 1970-71. They've also matched the club record for most home losses (nine).

Manchester United (16-6-14) is eighth in the English Premier League with two matches remaining. The Red Devils were also eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in December after finishing last in Group A.

Some are pointing the finger at second-year manager Erik ten Hag.

"I've come and have no idea what is going to happen here, so that is the disappointing thing," former Manchester United Star Wayne Rooney said Sunday, via the Manchester Evening News. "Throughout the season, the goals they have conceded, the lack of desire at times. We finished seventh when (ex-manager) David Moyes was here, but it never ever, I know Moyes lost his job, but it never felt as bad as what it is now."

Don't be surprised if Manchester United moves on from Ten Hag. Patrick Austen-Hardy of the Manchester Evening News reported Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has been tabbed as a potential replacement.
